Hooray! The Summer Holidays are almost here and what better time to get out and about than over the next few weeks whilst the weather is fine and the schools and colleges have finished for the summer term.
Whether you are on a ‘staycation’ this summer or looking for something to do to break up the holiday weeks, here at Pistachio’s in the Park we have some great ideas which don’t have to be too costly, to keep you all entertained in and around many of our London & Surrey Parks during the next 6 weeks.
A day out in London – Our amazing city of London has just so much to offer to families of all ages, it is phenomenal and doesn’t have to break the bank. Whether it’s a trip to one of the cities FREE Museums, a trip down the River Thames by the River boat Cruise or a Visit to admire Buckingham Palace, there is lots of choice. If you are looking for a place to relax from the hustle and bustle, why not drop into our Pistachio’s in the Park café at Red Lion Square? Located centrally in Holburn, at Red Lion Square you will receive a warm welcome and enjoy a bite to eat or relax outside within the park itself and admire the commemorative statues.
A visit to Greenwich, Brockley and Lewisham – Greenwich is a fascinating borough of London which has so many extraordinary things to appreciate. Here you’ll find the Royal Observatory Greenwich, Cutty Sark, National Maritime Museum, Greenwich Market, plus so much more. During the day, why not head up to our Pistachio’s in the Park café at East Greenwich? As an award winning green flag Public Park, packed with history and a children’s pay are, our eco-friendly café building offers a range of refreshments and ice cream to keep everyone revived.
Alternatively head South West of the Royal Observatory Greenwich and enjoy an afternoon at our Pistachio’s in the Park café Hillyfields, Brockley. With lots of play equipment and facilities for the children and a monthly farmer’s market, Hillyfields offers astounding views over Lewisham and the City of London.
Finally, head South East of the Royal Observatory Greenwich Lewisham and you’ll find our much loved Pistachios in the Park café – Manor House Garden’s. With a restored lake and fountain and a variety of facilities for the children to play on, the park offers a great day out for everyone to enjoy. Whilst back at our Manor House Garden’s café you can enjoy a bite to eat or make a quick stop with friends for at Street & Co Coffee, uniquely blended from top quality Aracabia beans.
A walk around Kings Field Park – Kings Field Park is glorious all times of year and especially in the summer, but also offers a convenient central point to surrounding attractions which can be equally admired. Drop into Kingston shopping centre or take a boat down to Hampton Court, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at its beauty and could even forget that you are so close to the city of London. Back at our Pistachios in the Park Kings Field café, you’ll find plenty to keep the younger ones entertained with a toddler playground and monkey bars and a zip wire for the older ones.
Take a Surrey Tour – The county of Surrey has so much to offer in terms of green space and parkland that we are spoilt for choice. Pistachio’s in the Park offer a range of café’s and parks throughout Surrey including Lady Neville Recreation Ground, Priory Park in Reigate and Redhill Memorial Park, so what not pack a picnic, plan a bike ride or take the kids for a Marshfield ice cream and a play at one of our parks.
Off to beautiful Berkshire – Set on the home counties borders of Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey. Sandhurst Memorial Park and neighboring Shepherd Meadows offers a vast expanse of walking and wildlife within a combined 68 acres. So why not grab your walking shoes, a pair of binoculars and a back pack and go on a nature walk for a day of exploration. At thend of it all, if you are need of a sit down and a refuel then pop into our Pistachios in the Park café Sandhurst Memorial Park for a light refreshment or a snack to eat.
