Spring is in the air! And during this month of March, there is as always plenty to see, do and celebrate at our Surrey and London Pistachio’s in the Park cafes and their surrounding beautiful parks.

With Mother’s Day just around the corner on Sunday 31st March 2019, we thought it would be lovely to celebrate mums, step-mums, mother-in-laws, nans and grandmas for the love and support that they give to us all.

Did you know that the celebration of Mothering Sunday actually dates back to ancient Greek times when they dedicated an annual festival to the maternal goddesses! Whilst the ancient Romans were also known to celebrate a spring festival called Hilaria which acclaimed a mother goddess known as Cybele.

In England, dating back to the 1600s, Mother’s Day was also known as Mothering Sunday, it is today recognised as a Christian celebration.  Although the date changes every year, UK Mother’s Day always falls on the fourth Sunday of Lent.

Spending time together doesn’t have to be expensive

To celebrate this Mothering Sunday why not treat your loved one to a day out at one of our parks? Take in the beauty of the park with a walk and a drink or a bite to eat in one of our Pistachios in the park café’s.  We offer a range of home-cooked food to suite all tastes from a mouthwatering pieces of cake, to a tasty sandwich or a hearty meal.   We also cater for all food requirements such as gluten free, vegan and vegetarian.

Spending time together and making memories last forever is the greatest treasure, of which neither has to be expensive.  For more information on what to see and do at our Pistachios in the Park locations, please see our individual London and Surrey park café website pages for more details.

Happy Mother’s Day!
