Today is 5th March 2019 ‘Shrove Tuesday’ and to celebrate, Pistachios in the Park are sharing our Pancake recipe so that you can have a go at making your own pancakes at home.

You will need:
100g plain flour
2 large eggs
300ml milk
pinch of salt
1 tbsp sunflower or vegetable oil

Topping of your choice!

Into a bowl or large jug, add 100g plain flour, 2 large eggs, 300ml milk, 1 tbsp sunflower or vegetable oil and a pinch of salt.

Whisk all of the ingredients to a smooth batter and then set aside for 30 mins to rest if you have time, or if you just can’t wait then start cooking straight away!

Set a medium frying pan or crêpe pan over a medium heat and carefully wipe it with some oiled kitchen paper.

Add a good glug of the pre-prepared pancake mixture and begin lightly frying.

When the base of the pancake looks bound together and slightly bronzed over, either make an attempt at your best flip or if you want to play it safe, then use a spatula to flip the pancake over to brown off the other side.

Once both sides are cooked ‘voila’ your pancake is ready.

Pancake Toppings

Whether you like the traditional lemon and sugar option or prefer something more creative, there are many delicious ways to add a topping to your pancake.

Choose your favourite fruit and then add a dressing such as chocolate spread, mascarpone cream cheese, golden syrup or jam to compliment!

Have some fun this Shrove Tuesday!
