Redhill Memorial Park RH1 1SZ

Redhill Memorial Park re-opened in October 2014 following a major refurbishment. The children’s play area was moved to a more central location and the Park now benefits from a sports zone with free tennis courts and multi use games area with trim trail. Also new is a community orchard and sensory garden which is a delight for visitors of all ages.

The Park is home to one of the VC Commemoration stones that are being laid in, or close to, the birth place of all WW1 Victoria Cross recipients. 2Lt Rupert Price Hallowes was born on 5 August 1881 in Station Road Redhill and was awarded his VC for ‘Most Conspicuous Bravery and Devotion to Duty’ during the fighting in Hooge, Belgium. As well as the Victoria Cross Lieutenant Hallowes was also awarded the Military Cross. He died on 30 September 1915 and is buried at the Bedford House Cemetery in West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.

Come along to Redhill and enjoy a game of tennis, try out the trim trail or just relax with your family and friends over a steaming cup of freshly brewed tea or one of our speciality coffees, perfect with a generous slice of home made cake or one of our many other gourmet delights. At Pisatchios in the Park we have all the makings of a great day out. We’ll put the kettle on…
